Faciltities

As time goes by things have a tendency to need repairing! That's where our Facilities Team steps in. Working in close conjunction with our Facilities Management partners, we care for the stores, Head Office and Distribution Centres across the country. Whether it's routine planned or reactive maintenance, we cover it all 24/7. Within the department we also cover the requirements of stores needs in stationary and cleaning, which is vital to the efficiency and effectiveness of each store. Fixtures development, along with supply, is a varied and exciting part of the departments function. All the above services are undertaken not just for Superdrug but also our sister business units in the UK at Savers and Three Mobile.

So, if you like the challenge of keeping things running at maximum efficiency and taking care of our properties, customers and staff, then this could be just what you're looking for.

Property Development / Project Management

When the business opens a new store or refurbishes one of it's many existing locations, it is our small but committed team that manages the‚ on-site delivery. We use agreed internal processes to secure best value from our contractors, we monitor the quality and speed of delivery, we sign-off the completed job, and we finalise all associated documentation. Site safety is paramount and we make sure that measures are firmly in place to protect our customers and staff.

The team is at the forefront of Company initiatives and expansion. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same, then joining us would definitely give you a buzz.

Implementation

It's our job to deliver business change, and we need like minded individuals with a strong retail background and history of change management. Our aim is the delivery of strategic development plans to help drive stores to keep pace with our customers changing needs.

We work closely with all departments to manage and facilitate the introduction of new ideas and new ways of working. We work especially close to the retail team to launch new stores and fast paced programmes to enhance our core stores. No two days are ever the same when the challenge could be a focus on one store or a major rollout across 400 outlets. We cover stores from Penzance up to Stornaway across the familiar fascias of Superdrug, Savers and 3 Retail. If you are interested in joining our team and have a can-do attitude with the tenacity to deliver at pace, we want to hear from you.

Estates

Our dynamic and busy Estates team manages the property leases on over 1600 stores across the Group and other properties nationwide.

With a budget in excess of £200 million across all of our business units, the team manages the payment of rents, business rates and service charge bills. But it's more than just a support operation. Each year the team also brings in more than £4 million from our tenants and therefore contributes directly to our bottom line.

As well as delivering income, Estates is responsible for saving us money...reducing overheads by negotiating rental costs downwards to the lowest possible level, appealing against unreasonable rates, and challenging every aspect of our property costs base.

The Estates team also seeks to extract as much value as possible from our properties by renegotiating leases, disposing of surplus space, and generating other forms of property income. As well as that, the team ensure that stores benefit fully from the rights to operate that are granted to them within each lease, such as who pays for repairs and who lays on the services that makes life smooth for our colleagues in-store.

Such responsibilities as these encompass a vast range of skills and activities. The team is small and concentrates a lot of expertise and experience. Everyone in it can expect to deal with several lines of "incoming fire" and must be able to multi-task, all of which makes it extremely satisfying to take up an issue and, with the aid of great systems, skills and support within the team, achieve a solution for the business.

So, if you can adapt to different challenges at fast pace, you'll soon become a hot property within Estates!
