Job Description

Primary purpose is to provide delivery of agreed internal works and projects to an agreed standard and to meet suitability, functionality, within an agreed cost and set timescale, whilst adhering to the annual departmental plan. In addition, acting as a third line support team member to the Infrastructure Support team. 

Job Purpose

• To plan and complete network and infrastructure projects as initiated by the business.
• To assist and advise on works from other team’s projects
• To manage infrastructure elements contained within IT Development projects.
• To provide 3rd line technical support as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
a)  Support the Infrastructure Technical Team Lead to deliver current and future business requirements
b)  Communicate clear advice and support to other corporate teams on proposed implementations, whilst ensuring functionality with existing systems and adherence of best practices are maintained. Drawing on technical experience to influence decisions where necessary.
c)  To ensure team, business and relevant support teams have a full understanding of systems installed and that components are supportable and work in line with all other systems.
d)  Ensure the appropriate specialist 3rd line support is provided, resolving issues as necessary and escalated to the appropriate level for technical support.
e)  Ensure process is in place to fully document and train desktop services to allow full and effective handover.
f)  Ensure all project costs within their control are within budget.
g)  Support for IT projects and business programmes. Ensure appropriate technical involvement.

• Awareness of project budget
• Adherence to timescales and awareness of annual workload, working within a 6-12-month view.

Person Specification

Ability to work as part of a larger team, as well as a proven ability to work well as an individual, whilst delivering under time constraints, within project scope and budget. Must be capable to self-manage support workload with project work. Must have detailed technical knowledge of WINTEL technologies, with at least five years relevant experience. This includes:

Essential:
Active Directory with an understanding of the structure and approaches to security
Exchange and Office 365 administration skills
Strong PowerShell skills
Microsoft Operating Systems
Mobile Device Management
Identity and Data Management experience
VMWARE and Vsphere experience

Desirable:
GAP analysis
Workflow and process management
ITIL 3 foundation
Prince 2 foundation
