Here's the exciting bit…a day includes

Responsible for the development and implementation of the reward and benefits offer for both Superdrug and Savers, developing the strategy and managing the day to day workload. Leading a team of 4 professionals to support a total of 17,000 employees across Head Office, Retail Operations and Distribution to drive colleague engagement through the reward and benefits. 

The team provide expert advice on all reward and benefits across the business, drawing on internal and external insight to develop a future focused reward and benefits strategy, policies and guidance.  Reward and Benefits function including Bonus, Pay Review, PMI, Online benefit providers, and Staff Discount Cards.    

To lead, motivate and develop a Reward and Benefit team in order to bring about continuous improvement and monitor performance in an efficient and effective manner and in line with the company’s commercial objectives and values. 

Key Accountabilities: 

Working with the Head of People for Superdrug and Savers to shape the reward and benefit strategy to ensure our reward package adds value for colleagues, drives the commercial objectives and delivers engaging, value led and innovative ways to reward people. 

Develop and manage all reward and benefits relationships with suppliers e.g. Pensions, company cars, childcare vouchers, buying and selling of holiday, private medical insurance and company cars to ensure they are fulfilling their contractual obligations. 

Drive engagement of the Reward and Benefits we offer with all colleagues through active engagement and understanding. 

Lead the development of the recognition scheme for both businesses, looking for new innovative and cost-effective ways to drive performance and engagement of our teams through recognition.  

Make sure we have the system and processes in place through regular reviews of policies, processes, procedures and controls to ensure we are streamlined, effective and fall within all operating requirements. 

Help to shape the businesses bonus schemes in conjunction with Group HR for both the central head office functions as well as the operational roles in the business across Retail, Head Office and Distribution. 

In conjunction with Head of Group Reward and Finance develop the pensions policy to ensure it remains fit for purpose and be part of the pensions steering group in Superdrug and Savers.  

Evolve our reward and career banding framework to make be flexible and respond to the agile organisation design of the future  

Lead and manage the Reward and Benefits team ensuring the service they provide to all areas of the business meets their customer’s expectations. 

What you’ll need to succeed

Strong level of personal drive, multi-tasking required. 

Ability to build strong relationships, communication and inter-personal skills. 

Understanding of motivational leavers that drive performance that engage colleagues. 

Good project management skills which demonstrate the ability to see the bigger picture without losing sight of the detail. 

Ability to work at both an operational and strategic level. 

Ability to communicate and influence all levels within the business on rewards and benefits. 

Ability to interpret advice and gain understanding of reward and benefits to ensure we remain competitive in the market place. 

Strong level of judgement required as there is not always a right answer.   

Ability to think outside the box. 

Capability to work at both a strategic and operational level. 

Positive self-starter, flexible, results orientated, accurate and attentive to detail.  

Previous experience with reward, benefit, compensation and benefits.
