Here's the exciting bit…a day includes
IT supplies technology services to our customers and colleagues in over 1320 Superdrug and Savers stores and 205 in-store pharmacies to enable on-going improvements to our customer proposition.
Agree and communicate the technology enabled change programme to improve our customer proposition and store processes.
Lead the IT team to support the existing store IT services and development of technology solutions for Superdrug and Savers stores and pharmacies.
Own the delivery of the store systems change programme.
Represent stores and store pharmacy IT technology with all colleagues to agree the IT store systems development priorities.
Ensure that the second and third-line IT stores and store pharmacy support works effectively.
 Key Responsibilities
Be aware and enthusiastic about improvements technology can enable in our stores to improve customer service and business processes. Champion these opportunities to influential people in our business to gain their support.
Lead a team of technology professionals to provide support, solution design, testing, rollout, and project management for store systems.
Provide development opportunities to team members to grow their knowledge and effectiveness.
Maintain a plan of IT developments to provide a robust systems foundation and enhancements in line with our IT architecture and business strategy.
Contribute to the IT Strategy and stores and store pharmacy system road-map.
Facilitate the prioritisation of IT development requests using a Kanban approach and the allocation of resources to deliver these changes using an agile deployment method.
Act as the main IT contact for store technology collaborating with all colleagues, our parent company, and suppliers.
Manage the team to deliver system changes to the timescales without causing unplanned disruption.
Prepare and present compelling store IT investment proposals.
Select software, hardware and IT professional services following a procurement approach.


Key Stakeholders

Internal: IT Director, Directors in non-IT departments, IT Leadership team, AS Watson Group IT team and Managers in IT and across our business.

External: Account and Service Delivery Managers from IT suppliers

Person Specification

Mandatory:
Experience and genuine interest in retail
Good communication skills with the ability to relay relevant information remaining mindful of the audience
Experience working in IT supporting a significant number of users and business critical applications and services
Track record in the delivery of significant IT projects in a complex business environment through the full project lifecycle
Experience in project planning, budgeting, estimating, monitoring and controlling tools and techniques
Knowledge and experience using industry standard project and service management methodology
Experience working with Kanban and agile change deployment
Experience in line management of teams with between 5 and 15 people
Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
Familiar with stores IT architecture, design, development methods and operational service
Experience of IT investment evaluation, including cost/benefit analysis & estimating IT cost/resources etc. for both defined & undefined initiatives
Commercial experience in managing tenders and negotiating contracts with third parties
Optional:
Prince 2 or similar qualification desirable
Degree education desirable
