You will play a key role in Superdrug and Savers as part of the Senior Distribution Services Team developing in-depth knowledge of the various contracts and tenders within the Distribution Services function.

As an experienced category manager and negotiator, you will scope out requirements for all tenders for the Distribution Services function and advise functional departments in best practice. Working closely with the procurement function you will undertake tendering, evaluation, procurement, and monitoring of a portfolio of corporate contracts. Working collaboratively in designing and managing tenders that will identify cost-effective and efficient solutions while working within the relevant regulatory and internal governance frameworks. Through this you will directly influence the establishment of operational best practices and implementation of the Distribution Services functional strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake tendering, evaluation, procurement, and monitoring of a portfolio of corporate contracts. 
• Collaborate in designing tenders that will identify cost-effective and efficient solutions while working within the relevant regulatory and internal governance frameworks.
• Work collaboratively with the distribution procurement partner and central procurement team to advise on the status of contracts, distribution tendering plans and implementation of Non-Trade, Investment and Legal policies to ensure compliance with company policies
• Work collaboratively with Finance and legal teams to share information and instruct on cases requiring input and support
• Provide active support, advice, and coordination across Distribution services in contract management and, where necessary, manage corporate contracts that have cross-service implications.
• Work collaboratively with third party agency/consultant procurement resources to take over existing tenders/procurement projects already in existence and to kick off new opportunities identified through procurement. 
• Build your procurement knowledge to enhance commercial agreements within SD and Savers, delivering cost savings and efficiencies.  
• Continually develop your commercial acumen and experience in commercial negotiations

On-going support to the business
• Support different departments across the business with contracts containing a logistics element in setting up and running tenders and quotation processes and category/supplier management
• Lead as the contract owner on tenders from initial requirement, market analysis, tender/contract management, implementation, post analysis/lessons learnt while working with subject matter experts from different departments
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of current procurement, tendering and contract management practices/ legislation, identifying opportunities within the market to evaluate potential service improvements, evaluate risk and reward opportunities, and pursue potential cost savings.
• Attend the UK Investment Committee (IC) where relevant for tender, quotation and capital expenditure request presentations ensuring that all proposals are accurate and address key risks and opportunities
• Support the approval process of relevant contracts with UK and Group Procurement Services (GPS) and UK and Group Finance functions for HK.
• Review and share information to ensure an accurate UK procurement contract log and feed into the visibility of upcoming contract expiry dates, break options and potential savings opportunities
• Establish, maintain, and review contract performance indicators and SLA’s; undertaking continual contract benchmarking throughout the duration of the contract period.
• Work with the Legal department to ensure that final contracts accurately reflect the commercial terms approved by the IC in the UK and HK.
• Support the relationship with GPS and collaborate on international tenders that cover the UK where required.

Key requirements

Experience of working in a busy procurement, tendering and contract management environment
Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, policies, and good practice
Commercial acumen and negotiation experience
Project management experience
Strong communication and time management skills
Experience managing a range of contracts and support others in managing contracts
Experience of preparing and analysing organisational and project-specific spends and costings
Distribution, Logistics and Supply Chain experience preferred 
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified or working towards it.
