Here's the exciting bit…a day includes
To provide a central ownership of the end to end IT service for Head Office and Distribution Centres. This role will play an important part in ensuring IT Services are fit for purpose and responsible for the delivery of those IT Services.
A typical day in this role includes:
Motivate the Infrastructure Services team ensuring that staff have the right level of knowledge to manage the critical Infrastructure support functions within the agreed SLA.
Maintain awareness of technical and service innovation and make recommendations for use within our business.
Manage the performance and relationship of key service suppliers
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders namely Department Managers, System Administrators, IT Service and Development Teams, Group IT.
Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the service meets their requirements.
Strong awareness of IT Security requirements and the application to our IT Services and users.
Support the successful transition of new services, network and hardware from Service Design aka Projects into Service Operation.
Agree the project delivery plans for the Infrastructure Service.
Manage technical resource to align it with new services and service support models.
Prepare and present Capital Expenditure Requests to the Investment Committee.
Control the Op Ex costs for the Infrastructure Service aiming to spend within the agreed yearly budget and identify areas for savings.
Provide input to the annual IT budgeting and Masterplan process.
Line manage colleagues setting performance targets and providing informal and formal feedback.
What you’ll need:
Experience working in IT supporting a significant number of users and business critical applications and services
Experience in leading an Infrastructure Service Management team
Experience in project planning, budgeting, estimating, monitoring and controlling tools and techniques
Knowledge and experience using industry standard service management methodology ITIL
Experience in line management of teams with of up to 7 people
2-3 years’ experience working in a busy support team at 2nd / 3rd line level.
Experience of providing support and an understanding of the challenges of the retail sector.
Experience in managing 3rd party suppliers.

Office 365 Cloud Support
Understanding of VPN and experience of Junos Pulse, Pulse Secure, Juniper and user authentication solutions.
Dell storage, server and workstation
Mobile Application/Device Management
Enterprise endpoint security experience
LAN and WAN troubleshooting
IP Voice and Telephone support
Service Now or Top Desk.
Kaspersky AV or similar
SAN Storage experience
Apple Mac, iPhone and iPad devices.
Virtualisation using VMWare vSphere 5.5 or later
VEEAM or similar solution
