bit… A day includes:
Working closely
with the Test Manager, Programme Manager, Business Analysts, technical teams
and business stakeholders, the role will support the design, preparation,
execution and evidence capture of test scenarios across the R10 solution.
The role will focus
on hands-on testing of store and integration processes across EPOS, pricing,
promotions, payments, gift cards, finance and related systems. A key part of
the role will be validating complex promotions and supplier funding scenarios,
including retrospective funding processes — retros — to ensure accurate
pricing, discounting and downstream financial outcomes.
📝 Key Responsibilities
Test Design &
Preparation
Analyse requirements, designs and acceptance
criteria to support the creation of effective test scenarios and test
scripts.
Design and review test scenarios covering
core R10 business and store processes.
Ensure traceability between requirements,
test cases, execution results and supporting evidence.
Support preparation of test packs for System
Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
Work with Business Analysts and SMEs to
confirm expected outcomes for complex business scenarios.
Test Execution
Execute test cases across System Integration
Testing and support User Acceptance Testing where required.
Validate end-to-end retail journeys,
including:
Sales, returns and exchanges
Pricing and price changes
Promotions and discounts
Supplier-funded promotions and retros
Gift cards, vouchers and coupons
Payments and refunds
Store colleague operational processes
Record test results accurately and provide
appropriate evidence to support pass/fail outcomes.
Retest fixes and support regression testing
where required.
Highlight blockers, environment issues, data
issues or unclear requirements promptly.
Promotions &
Supplier Funding Testing
Create and execute test scenarios for complex
promotions, including multi-buy, mix and match, threshold offers,
exclusions, priorities, conflicts and stacking rules.
Validate that the correct promotional outcome
is applied at EPOS.
Test supplier-funded promotional scenarios
and retrospective funding processes where relevant to the R10 scope.
Compare expected versus actual pricing,
discount and transaction outcomes.
Support investigation of issues relating to
incorrect promotion application, pricing discrepancies or supplier funding
calculations.
Work with Commercial, Trading, Finance,
Pricing and Promotion SMEs to clarify expected behaviour where needed.
Data &
Environment Support
Support the identification and preparation of
test data, including products, prices, promotions, stores, tax zones,
tenders, gift cards and supplier funding scenarios.
Check that test environments are available
and suitably configured for assigned test activity.
Raise environment, configuration or data
issues that may affect test execution.
Support the Test Manager in identifying gaps
in test data or environment readiness.
Defect &
Quality Management
Ensure defects are logged clearly and
consistently, with sufficient evidence to support rapid resolution by
development or configuration teams.
Include clear reproduction steps, expected
results, actual results and relevant screenshots or transaction evidence.
Perform initial analysis of issues to help
narrow down likely cause and support prioritisation.
Retest resolved defects and update outcomes
promptly.
Escalate high-impact defects, repeated
failures or quality concerns to the Test Manager.
Stakeholder
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with the Test Manager, Programme
Manager, Business Analysts, Developers, SMEs and vendors to coordinate
test activity.
Provide clear and accurate test status
updates, including progress, pass/fail status, blockers and defects.
Support business users during UAT execution
where required.
Maintain clear and organised test
documentation and evidence.
Contribute to daily test progress reviews,
defect triage and readiness discussions.
Customer Focus
Establish strong relationships with project,
business and technical stakeholders.
Keep customer and store colleague experience
central when designing and executing tests.
Use feedback and test evidence to identify
improvements and support better outcomes.
Collaborate with others to resolve issues
quickly and constructively.
Feel empowered to challenge unclear
requirements, unexpected results or quality concerns.
Support other team members by sharing
knowledge, evidence and practical insight.
Ensure testing prioritises actions that
protect the customer, colleague and business experience.

🛠️Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in a Test Analyst, QA Analyst or
similar role.
Strong experience writing and executing test
cases and recording test evidence.
Experience using test and defect management
tools, such as JIRA or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to
assess test results and identify defects.
Good understanding of test preparation,
execution, defect logging and retesting.
Excellent attention to detail.
Clear communication skills with technical and
non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively as part of a
project team.
Experience testing retail, EPOS,
transactional, e-commerce or customer-facing systems.
Experience testing pricing, promotions,
discounts or transaction calculations.
Desirable
Experience supporting System Integration
Testing and User Acceptance Testing in complex, multi-system environments.
Experience testing complex retail promotions,
such as multi-buy, mix and match, threshold promotions, exclusions or
stacking rules.
Understanding of supplier funding, rebates,
retros or financial processes linked to promotional activity.
Experience with payment, voucher, coupon,
gift card or loyalty testing.
Exposure to NCR, Oracle Retail or similar
retail technology platforms.
Experience supporting store technology
deployments, pilots or phased rollouts.
Ability to use AI appropriately to support
repetitive or administrative testing tasks while applying human judgement
to quality decisions.

How can I progress from a Team Leader role within Superdrug?
We have a programme called RMT: Retail Management Training, which is a 3-month development programme to advance management skills and upskill behaviours, helping Team Leaders to be ready for that Assistant Manager role. This is a great way to take that next step into a management role within Superdrug.
Requirements to apply:
You need to be a Team Leader for at least 6 months in the business, be confident in your role and be wanting to take the next step into an Assistant Manager role.
You will have already demonstrated your skills, willingness to travel to other stores to gain experience and build your network, and have completed a career conversation or interview with your Line Manager and Area Manager to confirm your readiness for the programme.

What training will I receive?
You will spend your first four weeks training with one of our Store Managers at a designated training store. After that, in your own store, the management team and Area Manager will continue to support you with guidance on operations, leadership, and any challenges you may face.
